The onset of the digitalization era has opened up a lot of opportunities for everyone, especially businesses and enterprises. From mobile banking to online shopping, everything is just one click away. The more you connect to digital assets, the higher the risk of vulnerabilities for your sensitive and confidential data.

Cybersecurity is the body of technologies, processes, and practices designed to protect networks, computers, programs, and data from attack, damage, or unauthorized access. The goal of cybersecurity is to reduce the risk of cyber-attacks and protect organizations and individuals.

Why Iron Hack? 👨‍💻

Learning Cybersecurity can be challenging. The topic is very dense and I needed guidance to discover this amazing world. Iron Hack provides not only a solid formation based on a cutting-edge military model but also real support in a future career.

The remote version of the Bootcamp was for me optimal. The course is framed with multiple daily group sessions with the facilitators and I got to quickly turn my colleagues into friends through all the soft skills sessions and group projects.

What am I gonna learn? 💡

This course offers a full overview of the information security world. I learned about networking, threat intelligence, risk management, ethical hacking, malware analysis, and much more! Some inspiring webinars were also offered with industry professionals where we were able to discuss and share ideas.

How does it look like? 💻

The platform provided by Cybint is really intuitive. The course is divided into multiple sequences on different topics and always includes a Lab with a virtual machine in which you get to practice the newly acquired skill. All the major industry software are covered and I often found myself coming back at it in my spare time for the pleasure to deepen the knowledge.

How does it feel? 🧑‍🤝‍🧑

The Bootcamp format and rhythm might be intimidating at first but I quickly forgot about it. The mood is always positive and the group quickly turns into motivational support, everyone exchange non stop and I never felt alone in the process. We usually all meet in a virtual class in the morning, get to navigate and complete exercises on the platform during the day, and have another meeting in the evening to discuss our daily achievements. I also really enjoyed the soft skills sessions that helped me reflect on personal goals and motivations.

Is it for you? 🕵️

If you’re the kind of person that has a craving for self-improvement or career change, YES! Coming from an artistic background, I’ve been working in the music industry for 8 years. My experience with the IT world was pretty limited, only had a strong desire to discover and learn.

Since a very young age, I’ve always been attracted to technologies. Collecting various pieces of knowledge over the years, I felt myself stimulated by understanding how devices are working, how they interact with each other, and the rewarding feeling you can have when you manage to put the finger on the weak or misfunctioning component.

The real trigger started when I found myself the victim of a banking cyber attack. I wanted to understand the method but also how to prevent and possibly protect others.

I started experiencing various cybersecurity-related videos and games. The topic is broad and divided into multiple specialties and I quickly felt overwhelmed. By chance, a friend of mine recently graduated from Iron Hack and told me about the school. The program offered me the possibility to finally assemble the puzzle pieces I had to get the “big picture”. You only need to be curious, open, and most important, to believe in yourself!

Looking back over the last three months, I realize all the tremendous progress we all did. Not only on a professional level but also on a personal one. Having the opportunity to exchange with people of different backgrounds or cultures and working together towards a joint goal can be life-changing.

On the horizon of a new career, we got to practice specialized job interviews and work on our profile with a career coach. As a result, I am now proud to have the opportunity to integrate a cybersecurity team into a large company and looking forward to start this new chapter!
